Bad people need apps too…

Once upon a time, humans lived in peace. They treated each other fairly and equally globally for a few centuries. This was everything humanity ever wanted: peace, at last. The citizens of the world were experiencing heaven on Earth. Every decade or so, there were a few bad humans who tried to do bad things, but it never lasted long. It was always a short-lived fever, and all the people involved were sent to an island where they were pampered. They were given nutritious meals and had activities throughout the week, such as therapy sessions, painting classes, and innovation programs led by prestigious scientists.

Diana found herself on this island after setting her neighbor's house on fire. Diana always had a dark side inside of her, and she thought she was the only one with these crazy thoughts. But she was relieved when she arrived on the island and met other people like her - the black sheep were all there. She knew her stay was temporary, but she wanted to stay on the island forever. During a therapy session, she stood up after the therapist congratulated her for waiting for the house to be empty before setting it on fire. The therapist was trying to show her that she had some good in her. Diana left the therapist's office and headed to her room. She took out her laptop and started typing very loudly.

The next day, Diana arrived early to her innovation workshop. She set up her computer while waiting for the scientists and others to arrive. Mars and Jendoe were the two scientists in charge of the innovation workshop that day. When they arrived, they saw Diana sitting with her arms crossed, head down and eyes half closed in the room.

"Diana stood up when she saw them and approached them with her computer, making them very uncomfortable. "I think it’s only fair for people like me and the others to have something to hold on to while the planet is up in roses.

"What do you mean?" Mars asked.

"I developed this app last night, and its sole purpose is to prevent us from doing any harm," Diana explained.

"It’s all about intention. Personally, I want people to talk down to me and make me feel like shit so I can survive my perfect life.

"But that’s not really rehab," Jendoe pointed out.

"Of course it is rehab! It’s all about freaking rehabilitation. As long as I am in touch with people who want to be treated like shit, I am not doing any harm. I am giving people what they want, what they need. I cannot change my nature, but I can manage it with this openly discriminatory app - D-APP.

"Okay, but what if you log in and no one’s online to insult you? What happens?" Mars asked.

"That’s why I need a lot of people to develop the beta version, and then the AI will do it all by itself," Diana replied. »

Diana started presenting her idea to all the the board. The whole idea was to give dopamine release to people who are not able to get any dopamine release from their lives on earth. They should be allowed to self-regulate themselves with an app designed to cater to their needs.

The scientists held a meeting to discuss D-App. Many of them were concerned that if the app fell into the wrong hands, it could have a torrent of negative consequences and create chaos in a society that has been carefully curated to be positive. Some scientists worried that D-App could lead to a pandemic of negativity in the world. They believed that if we were to unlock and nourish negativity, it could have a butterfly effect on society. However, other scientists were convinced that D-App could actually prevent many offenses and disruptions in the world. They believed that by allowing people to access this resource, they would be less likely to feel the need to cause harm in the real world.

After weeks of meetings and brainstorming sessions, the scientists concluded that D-App would be released. Diana was put in charge of the project and had to write a detailed code of conduct that all users were required to read and sign. If the rules were not followed, users would be exiled to an island of outcasts.

D-App became a legal drug that was given to outcasts to help them fit into society. However, after 100 years of existence, the app was shut down due to a lack of users. A whole generation had used the app and there were no longer any humans who needed it. One thing that Diana overlooked was the fact that in order to use the app, users had to agree to be sterilized, and if they already had children, their children had to be sterilized as well. This policy was presented as Diana's idea which made it more acceptable.

There is no way to create a heaven on earth without also allowing for darkness. If, in the past, the negative had taken over the positive, this time the negative took over again. It is impossible to eliminate negativity wherever there is positivity. Polarity is a permanent fixture and will eventually balance out.
